Information ShareVeil Handles
ShareVeil may store the following information locally on your device so that you can edit, review, save, and export your projects:
- Copies of imported screenshots or PDF pages used within the app.
- Detection results, redaction layers, and project information.
- Privacy preferences, including metadata-stripping settings, Privacy Shield settings, and custom blocklist terms.
- Usage counters, export-credit balances, and local purchase-entitlement information.
ShareVeil does not modify your original photos, screenshots, or documents.
On-Device Processing
ShareVeil performs screenshot and document analysis and applies redactions locally on your device. Imported files, screenshots, and detection results are not sent to ShareVeil servers.
Information is transmitted only when you intentionally submit a support request through Settings > Support.
Purchases
Subscriptions and other purchases are processed by the platform through which you downloaded ShareVeil, such as the Apple App Store or Google Play.
ShareVeil uses purchase-status information only to verify your access to paid features and apply any applicable export limits. Payment information, such as your credit card number, is processed by the applicable app-store provider and is not received or stored by ShareVeil.
Permissions
ShareVeil requests access only when necessary to provide a feature, such as importing a screenshot, opening a file, or saving an exported image or PDF.
Version 1 of ShareVeil does not request access to your camera, contacts, calendar, or location.
Sharing and Exporting
Images and PDFs exported from ShareVeil leave your device only when you choose to save, share, or send them through another app or service.
Any third-party app or service you use to store or share an exported file is governed by its own privacy policy and data-handling practices.
Retention and Deletion
Projects stored locally by ShareVeil remain on your device until you:
- Delete an individual project.
- Use the option within the app to delete all ShareVeil data.
- Uninstall ShareVeil from your device.
Support Requests
When you submit a support request through Settings > Support, ShareVeil collects the information you voluntarily provide, such as your email address and description of the problem.
To help diagnose and respond to your request, ShareVeil may also collect:
- The ShareVeil app version.
- Your device platform and operating-system version.
- Your device model.
- The date and time of the submission.
This information is transmitted through a Google Apps Script support endpoint and may be stored or processed using Google Sheets and Gmail so that we can review and respond to your request.
Do not include unredacted screenshots, private documents, passwords, home addresses, account numbers, Social Security numbers, financial information, or other sensitive information in a support request.
Children’s Privacy
ShareVeil is not designed to collect personal information from children. Because the app does not require an account and processes imported content locally, ShareVeil does not knowingly collect personal information from children except when information is voluntarily submitted through the support feature.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as ShareVeil and its features change. When we make changes, we will publish the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
